John J. Ratey, MD, Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard
Medical School and one of the world’s foremost authorities on the brain-fitness connection will highlight international scientific studies that led to his prescription for exercise to improve brain performance and behavioral health.
An internationally recognized expert in neuropsychiatry, Dr. Ratey supports fitness programs to help relieve stress, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression and learning challenges such as ADD/ADHD that can negatively affect an individual’s self-esteem and quality of health, and have been found to contribute to substance misuse.
Learn about programs around the U.S. that are successfully using exercise and camaraderie to prevent addiction and relapse and how their experiences can be used to initiate and support programs locally.
Explore collaborative efforts with representatives of Palm Beach County organizations that currently offer programs that address substance prevention, from children to adults.
